Q.I’ve seen many people use their hands to “pop” or “crack” their necks, and I do it myself when my neck feels stiff (very often). What are we doing to ourselves exactly? Are we doing any permanent damage?

If the word “soy” conjures up memories of dry, tasteless veggie burgers, you are in for a pleasant surprise. Soy products are healthful, abundant and relatively inexpensive. And more importantly, they taste great, too! The choices and varieties are plentiful, and the uses are limited only by available cabinet and refrigerator space.

I’ve never lived with a dishwashing-compatible companion. My college roommate was perpetually annoyed by my habit of “showering” the dishes (washing and rinsing each one under the running tap) instead of “bathing” them (filling the sink with soapy water, scrubbing all the dishes, then refilling the basin with rinse water).
