5. Equity
The people magnet. The motivator.

Stock motivates both people and capital. Startup stock can and has turned secretaries into millionaires, and produced annual capital returns measured in hundreds of percent rather than tens. While stock is behind the scenes, it is the central force that pulls startup ingredients together and motivates them to do the impossible. Startups need capital, and stock, of course, is the way to get it. It is the ultimate unfair advantage against incumbents, as no matter what they do, their stock is never as valuable as startup stock. (more…)

Learn How To Read A Food Label for a Balanced Diet

posted on November 17th, 2011 ·

Making healthy food choices at the grocery store is easier than ever before. Since the 1990 Nutrition Labeling and Education Act was passed, manufacturers must identify the nutrient contents of their products. What’s more, you can buy with confidence, knowing that claims like “fat free” and “light” can only be used if a food meets legal standards.

For instance, food manufacturers are no longer allowed to claim “reduced calorie” by providing 25% less food. Now, “reduced calorie” means the item contains no more than 25% fewer calories per serving than the “regular” product.

Furthermore, if a food manufacturer uses a nonstandard serving size that is less than the norm, its label must reveal this difference.

You know a particular food label adheres to the new guidelines when it is called Nutrition Facts. Roll your cursor over the image below and discover how much information you can unleash from one nutrition label.
